In the era of automotive intelligence, how to deal with a series of changes from software to hardware has become a common proposition for car companies and industry chain parties. On the eve of Shanghai Auto Show, Jiuhe Venture Partners, together with the founders of the invested companies in the automotive industry chain, held a closed-door meeting with Baidu’s Intelligent Driving Business Group to discuss the future development and cooperation of intelligent driving.

Linking business ecosystem is an important part of Jiuhe’s post-investment empowerment. Through its deep industrial resources, Jiuhe has built upstream and downstream business interfaces between its portfolio companies and major players such as Baidu, Ali, Tencent and Microsoft, as well as between its portfolio companies.

The event opened with speeches from Li Zhenyu, Senior Vice President of Baidu Group and President of Intelligent Driving Business Group, and Wang Xiao, Founder of Jiuhe.

Li Zhenyu introduced Baidu’s business lines, its multi-level layout in the era of artificial intelligence, and the open and cooperative ecology of the Intelligent Driving Business Group. Li Zhenyu said that Baidu has been involved in the intelligent driving track since 2013 and has been committed to it for a long time, looking forward to building an open and win-win ecosystem with all parties in the industry chain.

Wang Xiao, founder of Jiuhe, said, ‘The most difficult thing for startups is the process of going from 0 to 1 and from 1 to 5. From 0 to 1, we have to rely on ourselves to build a foundation, and from 1 to 5, we can rely on the power of our partners, and it’s very important to leverage the power appropriately. So we came to Baidu with the founders of our portfolio companies to exchange ideas, hoping that we can have a deeper understanding of Baidu’s smart driving ecosystem.’

Zhang Shaoyu, COO of Jiuhe Venture Capital, shared Jiuhe’s investment logic and layout in the automotive industry chain and said that Jiuhe invested in the industry’s first hydrogen fuel cell enterprise ‘Trace Technology’ that realises the longitudinal full self-research of the electronic control system, hydrogen energy is an important part of the new electrified energy system, and Trace Technology can meet and cover a wide range of hydrogen fuel systems through the integrated hydrogen fuel system solutions, can meet and cover a variety of hydrogen energy pan-scenario application needs.

On the scene of the event, as a representative of the Jiuhe automotive industry chain portfolio, Dr Dong Zhen, founder of Trace Technology, shared Trace’s positioning in the industry chain and some of its effectiveness in promoting cost reduction and efficiency in the hydrogen energy industry.

In view of the limitations of the range of the existing lithium battery UAV platform, Trace Technology relies on the fully self-developed integrated hydrogen-lithium hybrid architecture, the first integration of the power and energy domains, and the highly integrated hydrogen fuel cell control system based on silicon carbide, which significantly improves the range and loading capacity of hydrogen-powered aerial vehicles and expands the operating radius.
